Well designed, well engineered, more efficient, quieter than most. I wish it also had heat mode. – Dual hose design is well implemented. Well engineered product. $250 more expensive than competitor units of the same rating but other units with only one hose are far less efficient. This unit has a much better DOE/SACC rating for a 14000 BTU ASHRAE rated unit than competitor units. Online reviews say it is the quietest unit on the market. I measured power consumption at 1060 watts and discharge air to a 68 degree room was 23 degreesF with fan on low and 31 degreesF with fan on high. With intake air at the rear intake duct measuring 66 degreesF, the discharge air to the outside was 103 degreesF. All that said, the manual makes reference to the same unit with a heating mode. I called Honeywell and indeed the same unit with heat is showing in their database but it is not listed as available. That is a shame because this unit with heat mode in addition would really be awesome. Maybe the other model is coming someday as this model is new on the market as of 2022. In order to save some money I bought this on Amazon as refurbished. The cardboard box and all Styrofoam looked nearly demolished upon arrival. Inspection of the internal lower heat exchanger shows the compressor has previously crashed into the heat exchanger bending the entire heat exchanger unit 1/4 inch and leaving huge dents in the aluminum heat fins. The compressor is shock mounted and it had to move over 2.5 inches to do this amount of damage. Well engineered unit but the heat exchanger could have been better protected from an impact such as tipping over or movement of the compressor during shipping. I will be returning it to Amazon for a replacement.

Need tools: bandsaw, ruler and market – From Honeywell I was expecting an easier installation. I have a 32 inch window and none of the extension panels fitted. I had to cut the longer one. Then the extension panels are smaller in height so you need insulation foam ribbon to block all airflow. The fittings between the window panel and the tubes are very difficult to screw on the air ducts. I would perhaps fire the engineer who designed these parts. Otherwise it is a goo compact air conditioner.

Better than the Whynter ARC-14S – Got the Honeywell 14500btu unit to replace a well maintained ARC-14S, and after swapping it in place of the other unit, the room went from 74f to 68f, external 84f. Seems quieter, but draws more power from the wall for sure (about 13A).

Efficient, robust and gets the job done!!! – After almost a week of using this product, I think I can safely say that this product is an excellent augmentation for any cooling needs you may need for your house. This air conditioner is highly efficient, looks robust, and can cool a large room in minutes. We bought this for our son’s room which is the farthest away from our ducts, and this was a life saver. We had bought other similar products from a big home improvement store but ended up returning them twice due to lack of efficiency or missing parts (not patient to wait for them to ship). This product was easy to install, it took literally 10 minutes to put everything together and get this to work. The instructions are easy to follow and there isn’t a lot of assembling to do before plugging this in and running it. The remote design is easier to navigate and handle. This air conditioner is pretty quiet while running, which was a big deal for me. The display design looks great, but for me it was the efficiency of the unit that mattered the most.
