Great air conditioner with some minor annoyances – This TOSOT 8,000BTU air conditioner is a good, fairly quiet compact AC unit that puts out plenty of cold air.

Works perfectly out of the box. – We are very satisfied and content with this purchase. This air conditioner was relatively easy to set up. The instructions describe an installation for a vertical (up-and-down) window. Since we have a sliding window, we had to improvise on using the foam seals and other accessories. It would be nice if the manufacturer included instructions for installation in both types of windows. Many reviews speak of units arriving damaged; ours had only one tiny ding on the heat sink radiator. This unit has reliably and effectively kept our kitchen, living room, dining room and hallway at or below 70 degrees for the last two weeks, even during our 100 degree days this past week. When we purchased it, it was “on sale” for about $150 and it was a steal at that price. Of course, the real proof will be after we’ve used it for a few years. Hopefully it will continue this stellar performance. So far, a month in, we are quite pleased. We trust it will keep on performing well.

Amazing – It took forever to get here when you’re waiting in 100 degree heat but it did arrive two days early and I am so grateful. It cools very well in my opinion and I have a large living room to cool. I guess some could consider it loud but I don’t think so. Is it silent? No. Is it unbearable? No. SOMETIMES i cant even tell if its on! It’s heavy and took two people to lift into the house and into the window. The directions are CRAP like really bad but I figured it out with a little common sense. I bought this on Prime day and got a fantastic deal woohoo! Go ahead and get this one I bought the 8000 BTU and it cools my gigantic living room just fine and I live in Oklahoma (a.k.a. Hades).

Keeps the room cool – All in all it’s doing as it’s meant to, the remote is ok but is easily disrupted so range can be an issue, some times the cooling isn’t consistent, I’m having to do a lot of adjustments between 76 and 72 degrees as it gets too hot or too cold. While that isn’t too uncommon doing it this often is a bit much.

Of course, when the compressor kicks in, you hear it, so it’s definitely not silent, but when directly compared to a LG window unit I have of the same size, it is definitely quieter.
